Talk about hot chemistry! This book is full of steamy romance! (And hello hot book cover!)
Penelope “Penny” has always been the “good girl” of a famous pastor until she gets pregnant out of wedlock. As If it couldn’t get worse, the man she thought she was in love with left her for another woman, leaving her a single mother and the black sheep of her family. Her father sends her away to a facility to have her child, hoping to go through with an adoption to cover up his daughter’s poor choices except Penny can’t give up her little girl, so she runs away.
Travis is a hot bachelor and MMA fighter. Having come from a tough past where he had scraped by to survive, his success in the ring has brought him all that he has ever wanted, money, fame and comfortable life. He never thought his future would have love or children, in fact he always wanted to travel the world and not be tied down. One day he walks into one of his favorite bars to find a beautiful and proper girl, Penny, who he instantly is attracted too, bartending.
I really enjoyed Penny and Travis. Penny is the quiet and “proper” young lady who is doing everything possible to make a decent life for her daughter. She is not at all stuck up or annoying, which some “proper” characters can be. She is a determined, caring mother who works two low paying jobs to pay for the roof over her and the food in her fridge. Penny is very down to earth and a well-rounded character. Travis was hard for me to read in the beginning. He seemed a bit too rough and very much a bachelor until he interacts with Penny. I just loved how he interacts/watches over her and instantly wants to care and help her. He definitely is also a well-rounded character and overall good guy – Penny brings that out in him.
This story is more than a typical romance, there are twists and turns that will take you for a ride! Penny has a lot to deal with when it comes to her past, especially when it starts to resurface. I was so captivated by this book – I had to know what was going to happen next! I am so excited that there are more books in this series! Check it out.
