Adult Romance

ARC provided for an honest review through NetGalley.

This book contains the sensitive topic of PTSD.

Katherine thought she could be a “normal” person for one night and enjoy celebrating her sister’s engagement at a local club, Panic. When the loud music and crowded room gets to her, she spirals into an anxiety attack and passes out. Luckily one of the owners is there to help. Annoyed by the woman passed out in his arms, Nico, helps carry her to safety and then takes her home. He doesn’t expect this beautiful woman to be more than a junkie. When she comes to the club to apologize and explain her situation, he is not willing to listen and let her in but something keeps pulling them together. Katherine is beautiful, smart and broken. Nico is driven, smart and broken too. Can they help each other?

WOW. This book is so emotional, intense and simply amazing!

I felt so many emotions while reading…times my heart felt like it stopped beating in fear, I held my breath in anticipation, I laughed out loud from the funny banter and I grinned with the hot chemistry, and my heart broke and mended over and over again. I seriously could not put this book down and I devoured it in hours. I took a night off to fully digest everything before writing this review. I have been thinking about this book for over 24 hours and my thoughts and feelings remain the same. I am in awe (and shock).

I was instantly captivated by the complex main characters, Katherine and Nico, and became so immersed into their stories. Katherine is dealing with PTSD from a traumatic event. Although I do not suffer from this, I was easily able to relate with her. I was able to feel her emotions and understand what she was going through. This is why this book is amazing. I was able to walk in her shoes and experience something I have never felt before and it gave me the perspective I needed to understand this disorder. This book will move you emotionally. I credit the well-developed characters, intense plot and great writing of Sidney to make this experience happen.
