Whitney has done it AGAIN! After just reading Ten Below Zero (5 STAR review here), I am amazed and astonished by her. The Weight of Life, just like TBZ, is so beautifully written, breathtakingly emotional and REAL. If you are looking for a book that will make you FEEL then you have to read this!

What makes this book so good is that complex main and secondary characters, Mila, Ames, Sam, Jude, Lotte….the list goes on. Each of these characters have a story to tell. They have pasts that have shaped them into the people they are. All of them are relatable and REAL. Plain and simple. I was able to connect with each of them, even if I had not experienced what they had. I was sucked into their stories. They captivated me and I was rooting for them, even if it was conflicting at times.

I could NOT put this book down but like I said before, Whitney’s works, as a speed reader, force me to slow down and to savor each word. I LOVE that! The best way I can describe this feeling is paralleling it to that of feeling parched for water. So thirsty you want to chug it yet knowing your body can only handle so much at a time. I wanted to devour this book in one sitting but I knew better, my heart knew better.

I will not give any spoilers but I will say that this book will take you for a emotional ride. It’s a book about life, it’s challenges, how we carry memories/experiences with us and how we grow. It’s a book that I will remember days, weeks, months and years from now.
