Wow. This book took me on an emotional journey full of twists and turns. K.A. Linde builds a modern magical world set in New York City where monsters exist – somewhat peacefully – with a monster treaty in place. There is suspense, lots of great characters, magical world building, slow burn romance and plot twists and turns that will keep you guessing while also keeping you on the edge of your seat.

I personally struggle with heavy world building and too many characters…give this book a chance because once you get past the setting and introduction of characters, which I will add are KEY to the story, you will be sucked into this book. I read the last 75% in one sitting becuase it hooked me and I couldn’t put it down!
