Harmony’s life has never been easy. Right before breaking it off with her boyfriend, since they were planning their separate ways as they headed to college, she finds that she is pregnant. Her parents want her to abort her child but she can’t and will not entertain that idea. To keep her child she does the only thing she can. She marries her boyfriend and makes a life for her new family, away from her parents. Just as things begin falling apart again…she loses everything in a fatal car accident. Now she must pick herself up and try to find a reason worth living for. Luckily the firefighter, Preston, who helped during the accident, wants to be by her side and help her through this tragic time. He might just be the reason she needs.

Wow. Talk about a book that will give you a million emotions. I was seriously heartbroken and crying at one point and then laughing and grinning at others. There are so many great things about this book. The complex characters, the well-crafted and detailed plot and the breathtaking emotions/feels are just a few amazing aspects.

The very beginning of this book is really tough to read, Harmony goes through earth-shattering and tragic losses. As hard it is to read, it was essential for getting to know Harmony. I was able to connect and empathize with and for her. I instantly became her biggest fan and wanted her to overcome and succeed! She is such a complex and well-developed character. Preston is also a complex and well-developed character. He too goes through some tough times but seeing him be there for Harmony really added depth to the story. The reader gets to see Harmony react and grieve first hand and then see Preston being there as a witness and a support for Harmony. It really made for a great story that was captivating and enlightening for the entire book.

I LOVED the chemistry in this book. It was a slow yet constantly increasing burn of desire between Harmony and Preston. They took their time to get to know each other and that made this story feel so real and SO GOOD! The FEELS! Talk about building up to the hot romance, makes the wait totally worth it!

Overall I was loved how this story took me for a ride. Sometimes it was unpleasant and heartbreaking but other times were exciting and heartwarming. This story feels real and I absolutely love it because of that. Kelly Elliot has created a handful of characters that are so interesting, endearing and real. I can’t wait to check into her other works – hopefully some will contain some of the amazing secondary characters within this story!
