Adult Romance/Hockey Romance

ARC provided for an honest review through NetGalley.

Miranda is doing her best to put herself through college. She works hard and long days at her two jobs to get by. Although she is broke and extremely busy, she keeps her eye on the prize and pushes forward. When she is assigned to clean the rich and cocky hockey star’s penthouse suite at the Dupont, she shuts down his advances and tell’s him off. Expecting to be fired the next day she finds out he requests her to clean his suite during his stay. Great.

Jake is one of hockey’s hottest bad boys. Nothing seems to satisfy him – money, women, anything. When he meets a sexy maid, Miranda, he can’t stop thinking about the things he wants to do to her. She is unlike the women who throw themselves at him and he quickly learns of her determination and drive to make something of herself. He wants her. One thing is standing in his way, the coach’s daughter has taken a liking to him. He can’t risk being benched but he can’t risk Miranda walking away either…

I LOVED LOVED LOVED this book. I am going to be completely honest…the description to this book intrigued me but I was not looking forward to another “bad boy player” type getting what he wants and using women BUT this book is so much better than that! I was so surprised how much I loved this story and SO GLAD I read it.

The banter/chemistry between Miranda and Jake is so delightful. I loved them being together because I wanted to know what they would say to each other and I wanted to see their reactions. They really hit it off and overall made the story amazing. Both of these characters are well-developed and have detailed backstories that make them three dimensional and because of this I was able to understand where both of them were coming from. They were real to me and I easily became invested into their lives.

There are so many great things to write about in this review…the best way I can describe how this story made me feel is that it kept me guessing, made me smile and laugh out loud, pulled on my heart strings and made me so sad when the book was done because I wanted MORE! Bravo to Brenda! I cannot wait to read more of her books!

Releases tomorrow, December 6 – preorder on Amazon!

  1. I love it when an author creates likable main characters. Sure, there have to be “villains,” but I want to be invested in the central characters.
