Adult Romance/Motorcycle Club Romance
ARC provided for an honest review through NetGalley.
Smith is the president of the local Motorcycle Club and no one dares to tell him what to do and no one challenges him except her…Nora. Nora was eighteen when they began their “fling” and it quickly escalated into something more but with Nora made a choice, a choice that destroyed him. Even after she left and didn’t look back, he still wants her. He gets what he wants.
Nora was young and in love but her father didn’t like her associating with Smith. He did everything in his power to ruin him and Nora had to follow her father’s rules. She walked away from Smith and from herself. Now she isn’t the naive little girl Smith once knew. She is ready to put up a fight.
OMG. Wow. This book was so captivating and intriguing. I could NOT put it down and I devoured it in HOURS! I really enjoyed the beginning of this book and how Nora stands up for herself. I was expecting her to “just give in” and let Smith do whatever he wanted…NOPE…she has a strong backbone and doesn’t just give in. I loved that. Seriously, you get so many romances where the woman puts up a “fight” and then gives in halfway through. Nora doesn’t do this in the very beginning and I instantly respected her as a character and I respected Jackie Ashenden. I knew I was going to love this story.
Both Smith and Nora have complex pasts that really drive this story. They made choices and must live with them. As a a reader, you get to see that! Seeing them work through “their issues” were insightful and interesting. I am not going to give the book away but I can say that I totally saw both sides of each of their stories. I was angered for Smith and for Nora. I felt that they both were justified in their actions. Their reactions and dialogue were perfect and REAL.
Overall, this story was so much better that what I expected. It’s not a “typical” alpha male, Motorcycle Club romance. Yea, there is Motorcycle Club business scattered throughout and this story doesn’t go in depth into that…that’s okay! This story is about two characters working through their choices and deciding if they should be together. I loved that!
