WOW. Wow wow wow wow wow. Where do I even begin with this read!? There are so many great things in this novella, it’s absolutely amazing! Everything I want in a book is here. It’s emotional, captivating, has complex characters that all have a story to tell and is magnificently written with dialogue/banter that will make you laugh out loud and grin constantly.

Let’s talk about the characters. Both Elliot (LOVE her name) and Carsen are complex, well-developed main characters. Teagan tells a lot about them and their personalities through dialogue and conversations with each other, whether in person or through texts. I would much rather “see” a character then be told who they are, what they do and how they act. Kudos to Teagan for doing this.

Elliot and Carsen are real and relatable. They have struggles to overcome and some maturing/growing up to do and you get to SEE that in this story. Another reason why I love it. Besides the main characters, Teagan creates yet another world where we want to get to know EVERYONE. While reading I was interested in Fish, Jase and others. When the secondary characters are also well-developed, they help round out the main characters and move the story forward. These characters create a captivating story that you can’t put down.

I will not give away any more details but I can easily say that this has been my favorite read of 2017 so far. I don’t expect less from Teagan Hunter. She has a way of writing a story that is concise and to the point yet gives all the FEELS.
