I really enjoyed this book. I couldn’t put it down and read it in one day with very few breaks. I was hooked!

I loved the concept/plot, the characters and the chemistry in this book. The plot is full of twists and turns that will take your emotions on a ride. It is also refreshing concept with the reporter/camera man story line. The news stories, newsroom and coworkers were very interesting and I really enjoyed all the details and learning about the character’s jobs. When it comes to the two main characters, I was anticipating the “first meeting” and was feeling extremely anxious….then once that happened I was grinning and laughing. The dialogue is funny, snarky and captivating. Jake “Mac” MacDonald, Ashley MacDonald and Elizabeth “Beth” White are such well-rounded and complex characters that, with their back stories, really drive this story forward. The chemistry between Mac and Beth is hot and after meeting them I instantly wanted them to be a couple. I was rooting for them the whole way. Mac’s four year old daughter, Ashley, is such a great character to show how genuine and loving Mac is. The relationship between her and her father was great and exactly how I think it should have been. Ashley also aids in moving the story forward and filling in the gaps with funny and sometimes awkward conversations/situations.

One of the only things I didn’t like was the quick plot twists and how Mac and Beth reacted towards them at the end of the book. I had a feeling it was coming and I wasn’t really happy with their reactions and lack of reactions. (It will make more sense when you read it – I don’t want to give it away!) This is really the only thing holding me back, I wanted more and different reactions from them.

Overall, I really enjoyed this read. If you are looking for a book that is fun, has twists and will take you for a ride – read this! I am now a Mari Madison fan!
