Carter Reed (Book 1) by Tijan (Book Review) 4.5 STARS

4.5 STARS
Mafia Romance/Hitman Romance

Goodreads Blurb

I DEVOURED this book right after Cole by Tijan. This book follows Carter Reed who is a hitman/mafia man associated with Cole. I don’t think you HAVE to read Cole first to follow and understand this book but I highly suggest it! I did and I really enjoyed both books.

Emma is a young woman who finds herself in a terrifying situation. She killed her roommate’s boyfriend. Why? Because she walked in on him sexual assaulting and abusing her friend. Emma did the only thing she could think of. HUGE problem. The boyfriend was a key member of the local mafia family and she knows they will hunt her down. She turns to the one person she could think of for help, Carter. Carter has always looked out for Emma, more than she would ever know. Emma searches to find him and when he sees her in such a desperate state, he does everything in his power to keep her safe.

I LOVED how real and raw the emotions were in this book. I felt as if I was in Emma’s situation. I felt panicked and desperate. Seriously! I felt my heart racing and palms sweating as I was reading. I was SUCKED into this story! That makes a great book to me. I also really enjoyed the main characters. Emma was sweet, strong and relatable. Carter was scary, strong and dominate in a way that wasn’t too overpowering. I loved seeing them interact and the chemistry between them was on fire!

There is a second book – Carter Reed 2 – that I purchased but haven’t read yet. I need to take a break and process this book. It was SO GOOD and I highly recommend it.

Buy on Amazon.
